YIPWEA Coffee Cup Challenge

YIPWEA Coffee Cup Challenge

IPWEA has long been advocating for and supporting initiatives that address the engineering skills shortage problem that employers have been facing around Australia, particularly in the local government sector. In response to this issue, the Young IPWEA Committee has developed an informal engagement program, aptly named “Coffee Cup Challenge”, that will be open for IPWEA members to participate in.

What is the Coffee Cup Challenge?

The coffee cup challenge is a program which pairs Young IPWEA members with experienced professionals in order to share knowledge, advice, and facilitate professional development.

What can I expect from the program?

The program facilitates sharing of knowledge and experiences, planning of career progression and great networking opportunities that can increase your exposure across the public works industry.

Who is the challenge open to?

Both young and experienced members from across the public works industry are encouraged to sign-up! There are great benefits to being involved, whether you’re a young professional just starting out, or a more experienced professional looking to provide guidance and give back to the industry.

How long does the program run for?

The program takes 20 weeks from start to end. During this time you’ll receive a full introductory brief to the program, meet several times with your partner for coffee and complete development exercises before receiving certification on completion.
