About the SLSC Webinar Series 2026

The IPWEA SLSC Webinar series is designed to properly equip those who have taken on or are about to take on responsibility for managing a public lighting portfolio within their organisation. You might be working in a local government, road authority, government agency, private sector infrastructure owner, utility or at a lighting supplier. More than 300 people participated in these webinars in 2025 and the program is being expanded in 2026.

What you'll get

This webinar series, delivered by a range of public lighting experts, will teach you about:

  • the latest in public lighting technology including what you need to know about LEDs, smart controls and solar lighting
  • how to confidently procure lighting equipment using well-vetted model specifications that deliver good environmental, public safety and cost outcomes
  • how to establish a robust public lighting strategy for your organisation
  • how to commission new lighting projects using a well-vetted design approvals process
  • good asset management practices for public lighting
  • how the finances work in public lighting

The webinars will be led by industry experts from a range of well-regarded suppliers, consultants and customers. The webinars recognise that many charged with responsibility for lighting have little prior training in the field so no prior knowledge is required. This series, long called for by many stakeholders, offers a wide-ranging introduction to the many facets of delivering this vital community service. 

Pre-reading will be provided in advance of most webinars and a complete series resources list will be sent to all participants after each webinar. Participants are eligible for up to 1.5 CPD hours per webinar and those completing at least 5 of the series in 2026 will be eligible for a digital badge.
