Fleet Scholarship

The Smartrak IPWEA Fleet Management Scholarship will be offered for the first time in 2024. The objectives of this scholarship are to support two fleet professionals as they build their capability and credentials in fleet and plant management and to grow representation in the fleet management profession. There will be one scholarship awarded to a recipient in each semester of 2024.

Scholarship Inclusions

The scholarship recipient (2) will receive the following:

  • Enrolment in IPWEA’s Fleet Management Certificate.
  • A 6-month subscription to the Plant and Vehicle Management Manual (PVMM) commencing from the start of the course.
Receiving this scholarship for the Fleet Management Certificate holds significant potential for positively impacting both my organisation (Te Kohao Health) and the communities it serves. As an integral part of an organization catering to a vulnerable community with complex health needs, the provision of a reliable vehicle fleet is paramount to our mission. This scholarship will equip me with the specialized knowledge and skills needed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our organisation's vehicle fleet management. By gaining insights into strategic planning, maintenance, and optimal resource utilisation, I will be better equipped to ensure that our fleet operates reliably and consistently, getting our workers out safely and on time.

Scholarship Application

The scholarship will be awarded based on merit and will be judged by a selection panel comprising of key IPWEA Fleet and Smartrak staff. Applicants must complete the following short-answer questions:

  • What are you looking to gain by undertaking the Fleet Management Certificate?
  • Please detail how will this scholarship enable you to positively impact your organisation and the communities it serves?

Scholarship Application Process

Only applicants who meet the eligibility criteria and submit a complete application will be considered. Applicants must submit:

  • A curriculum vitae
  • A response to the Scholarship Criteria
  • A letter of support from your employer

Eligibility

To qualify for the Smartrak IPWEA Fleet Management Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be currently working in a fleet management, asset management or related role.
  • Be residing in Australia or New Zealand for the duration of the scholarship.
  • Be willing to sign a scholarship agreement, outlining the terms and conditions of the scholarship.
