IPWEA Australasian Fleet Conference 2021

The 2021 IPWEA Australasian Fleet Conference is fast approaching. This year’s virtual event brings new opportunities and a new way to think about the conference experience. Some leaders in the fleet community are using the special organisational rate as a way to get more of their team and other stakeholders involved. They are making the conference an “in-house” event by getting everyone together in the lunchroom to watch and discuss the presentations.

Some will use the virtual format differently – attending priority sessions live and watching others at a convenient time in the weeks following the event. As an example, I know someone who uses their time on public transport to watch conference sessions on-demand.

Importantly, those who don’t get the opportunity to travel to traditional conferences will be able to attend and participate in this important professional development opportunity for the first time

We’ve got great local and international speakers lined up. Auto industry expert and Podcaster Mark Palavestra will provide an insight into the significant changes facing the fleet industry and how organisations are planning to address the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

We also have Mary Joyce Ivers – National President APWA (USA), Lara Young, Group Carbon Manager for Costain Group (UK) and Sami Aherva – Unit Director Stara Logistics Helsinki.

As a special offer to those who register for the conference before 21 February, IPWEA are offering (in addition to early bird rates) access to the new IPWEA Risk-Based Replacement Tool and free registration to the RBR workshop to be held on 5 May. Book now to get access to this great resource and training package at no additional cost.

New IPWEA Fleet Management Certificate

The new IPWEA Fleet Management Certificate (FMCert) commences this week. The FMCert now has three fixed intakes per year and is completed over an approximate three-month period. The new certificate includes new and additional material and has been updated to align with the Plant and Vehicle Management Manual Edition 4.

IPWEA’s Online Fleet Management training has also been refreshed and is delivered three time per year over a 6 week period.

Fleet Management Certificate or Online Fleet Management Training – which is best for me?

It really depends on your objectives. Both courses cover important principles, knowledge and skills relevant to plant and vehicle fleet management. The FMCert provides a deep understanding of the material and includes tutorials and assessments. On successful completion of the course, students are awarded an industry recognised qualification, a certificate and the right to use the post-nominals FMCert adding to their professional credentials. The FMCert is ideal for those wanting a formal qualification to back-up their experience and for those wanting a relevant qualification to get started or advance their fleet management career.

The Online Fleet Management training is a great way to obtain important knowledge and skills fast. The course is delivered over 6 weekly 1 – 1.5 hour online sessions and all exercises and information are provided within the sessions.

Think about which program is best suits you and get ready for the June intake.
