Don’t let the grass grow under your feet – getting value from your parks and landcare fleet

Parks and landcare fleet is used in the maintenance of parks and reserves and can be among the most expensive items to maintain within a public works plant and vehicle fleet.

The 2018 Plant and Vehicle Management Workshop session on park fleet will examine key drivers and priorities around cost, environmental considerations and gaining efficiency.
The seasonal nature of most grounds care and the spread of locations does not always lend itself to efficient operation of plant. It can also require multiple roles for low-utilisation items of plant to meet optimum utilisation levels. These issues are a major factor in the plant selection process or when to own or hire.

The 2018 Plant and Vehicle Management Workshop session on park fleet will examine key drivers and priorities around cost, environmental considerations and gaining efficiency. Issues to be addressed include:

  • Gaining maximum efficiency through using equipment differently.
  • The relevance of current practices.
  • Latest developments and innovative practices.
  • Maintenance scheduling.
  • Understanding the best equipment for the job.
  • Key points in developing specifications.
  • Allowing suppliers to be innovative in their responses.
