Congratulations to our Buildings.PLUS second chance draw winner: Hobart City Council!

Bill Hanley from Hobart City Council entered IPWEA’s competition for a two-year subscription worth $8200, which was open to attendees of the 2017 International Public Works Conference. Hanley was excited to score this great prize for his council.

Updated component ‘unit rates’ for Buildings.PLUS released

IPWEA has just released to Buildings.PLUS subscribers a spreadsheet with updated building component prices for use in the building’s asset management software. It is recommended that subscribers update their component Reference library annually to ensure that financial projections generated for asset management planning are accurate, reliable and reflective of today’s prices.

The 2017 Building Component Guidelines (BCG) has been compiled by SPM Assets based on the latest 2017 edition of the Rawlinsons Australian Construction Handbook, SPM Assets’ extensive Reference library, and the official BCG’s maintained by SPM Assets for NAMS Group in New Zealand.

The updated data covers nine component groups with 41 component types and 223 components – each component is cross-referenced with the five state capital cities in Rawlinsons – Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. A number of SPM Assets customers have also shared their unit rates for the BCGs – from regions including New Zealand, New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia.

Buildings.PLUS users can update the rates for individual components in their own reference library. Those needing help from IPWEA to update the rates in bulk can do so at cost: $500+GST for a simple upload or $1,500+ GST for a more advanced BCG review. If interested, please contact IPWEA.
