About Dean William Macpherson:

Dean William Macpherson was appointed Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, South Africa on 3 July 2024. He is both a seasoned businessman and politician, with a strong focus on economic policy and job creation. His public service career began in 2009 as a local government councillor, and since 2014 he has represented the Democratic Alliance (DA) as a Member of Parliament. During the Fifth Parliament (2014–2019), he served as the DA’s Shadow Minister of Trade and Industry and also as a Whip in the National Assembly. In addition, he is a member of the Advisory Board of the South Africa–United Kingdom Chamber of Commerce in London. In 2021, he was elected Chairperson of the DA in KwaZulu-Natal.
