Why did you become an IPWEA Member?

I was introduced to IPWEA at the commencement of my career in Local Government at the City of Greater Geelong.

Being a graduate in the sector, IPWEA provided a learning platform and an opportunity to network with other professionals and attend various events to assist my professional development during this time.

IPWEA continues to deliver a diverse range of professional development opportunities including seminars, workshops, conferences and more recently a range of webinars. IPWEA continues to provide ongoing support that is both technical and personal in nature, as I progress through my engineering career within the Local Government sector.

What are the benefits for your role/career?

IPWEA has given me an opportunity to engage with public works engineers of all levels across the Local Government sector.

Key information sharing platforms through the various opportunities presented to IPWEA members has increased my awareness of innovative measures other municipalities are undertaking for further consideration at my current workplace. IPWEA has also been integral to keep informed of sector wide issues.

What would you say to someone considering a membership?

IPWEA membership has provided support both on a personal and professional level throughout my career in Local Government.

There are a diverse range of engaging and valuable professional development opportunities on offer, as well as networking events to assist in personal and professional growth.

I encourage you to contact IPWEA Victoria and become a member today.
