Steering Committee Update
Since the launch in April LGAQ have continued to support the roll out of the service – including:
- Adding additional council performance data as Annual Reports were signed off and released by QAO.
- Releasing additional support and training materials on LG Online.
- Delivering presentations on the service to stakeholders, steering committee members and other agencies – as well as a number of councils at their invitation.
In the last couple of weeks they have added additional KPI’s based on the tranche 2 list including:
- Three new demographic measures
- Working Capital Ratio
- Reliance on Rates & Charges
- Reliance on Operational Grants
- Time Lost to Accidents per Employee
- Population Serviced per Employee
- Asset Consumption Ratio
- Calculated Replacement Cost (CRC) of Asset Base per Capita
- Two new service level measures
LGAQ will be casting their mind towards the water and waste water indices as the new reporting outputs for these services get released.
They have now written to all councils seeking input into what data sets may be of interest for inclusion in tranche 3. Councils have been asked for their responses by September 30.
To support this work the Association is also running a small number of regional workshops in partnership with AEC group in the following centres:
- Rockhampton: Tuesday 18th August (10am-2:30pm)
- Brisbane: Wednesday 19th August (10am-2:30pm)
- Emerald: Tuesday 25th August (10am-2:30pm)
- Longreach: Tuesday 8th September (10am–1pm)
- Cairns: Tuesday 22nd September (10am–2:30pm)

Once LGAQ have completed this round of engagement, and consolidated all of the feedback received from councils we intend to re-convene the steering committee to review and consider the information gathered. They will look to finalise a meeting date in the coming weeks, it will most likely be in late October / early November.
