It was all Brylcreem and bobby socks at last night’s Happy Days event where delegates came in their best fifities-inspired finest to dance the night away.
Upon entering the venue, delegates had the chance to get snapped in a classic fifties car with our own team of bobby sockers before continuing through to the retro kitted out dining room for a buffet dinner.
In between courses, delegates were regaled by our own dancing troupe with all the hits of the era and before long everyone was up and dancing along.
A special mention should also go to the winners and finalists of costume competition. The Boston Globetrotters proved a crowd favourite – as did the Malaysian Fonz, for the men.
Amongst the female finalists of the costume competition was a lovely lady from Iceland whose mother had hand-embroidered her fifties-style skirt – most impressive.
However, it was a lady called Kathy that stole the show in her red, polka-dot number. Congrats Kathy, what a great outfit.
If this was anything to go by, the Gala Dinner tonight will be a fantastic affair. See you all there.
IPWEA would like to give a special thanks to HEB and TechnologyOne for sponsoring the event.
