IPWEA has launched its new online driver-training program to help employers prevent injuries to staff and the expense of fleet incidents.
The course has been developed in conjunction with driver training company XDrive to help drivers refresh their driving skills and give employers visibility of their employees’ driving skills.
The course comprises 24 training modules, which participants have unlimited access to over the course of 12 months.
Employers can monitor the progress of their employees and offer on-road training for those who are underperforming on the course.
Course trainer and XDrive Head Trainer Stephen Haughey, said the course is aimed at keeping people’s driving skills up to date and to help minimise the cumulative cost of small fleet incidents.
“Obviously if somebody races up to the traffic lights, these things translate into more wear and tear on the vehicle,” he said. “All these little incidents add up to a large cost.”
