JCB launches stump grinder attachments for skid steers

JCB has launched the SGS26 and SG30HF stump grinders, which are designed to be compatible with the company’s skid steer units.
The grinders can be fully operated from the skid steer’s cabin, unlike standalone stump grinding machines. The attachments both use 28-teeth grinding wheels that the company says can grind down 300-millimetre stumps in under a minute.
The design and pattern of the cutting teeth allows the stump grinders to be operated in both horizontal and vertical motion. Each model can be fitted with either square teeth with single lock nut chain, or shard style teeth with universal bolt pattern depending on the hardness of the stump being removed.
According to the manufacturer, the stump grinder attachments have a fully floating spring-loaded chassis that prevents excess pressure being applied to the attachment, ensuring maximum grinding efficiency. They also feature safety bypass circuits to prevent damage to the stump grinder attachment.
The SGS26 weighs 327 kilograms and is designed for skid steer loaders with auxiliary flow hydraulics rated between 60 to 83 litres per minute. The SG30HF weighs 361 kilograms and is designed for machines rated between 95 to 151 litres per minute.
Sullair distributes compressors direct to market
Sullair Australia will now distribute its portable air compressor range directly, after ending its arrangement with Western Air.
“Western Air has been a valuable partner to us in the exploratory drilling and mining markets and we thank them for their support,” said Fred Funnell, Sullair Australia Managing Director.
“However, existing and new customers of Sullair Australia will be better served by our direct sales force and our distribution partners in regional centres. We look forward to interfacing directly with our customers.”
