Compact track loader
Kubota Tractor Australia has released a 74-horsepower (55 kilowatt) compact track loader, the SVL75. The unit features 2814-kilogram bucket breakout force and a 2213-kilogram lifting capacity. It is powered by a four-cylinder, direct-injection, turbo-charged diesel engine and fitted with a rigid-mount undercarriage and a vertical lift. The company says the loader can handle a range of attachments, thanks to an auxiliary hydraulic line that supplies 71.2 litres per minute. Furthermore, the Engine Stall Guard maintains high traction and ensure the engine will not stall in tough conditions.
Hybrid excavator picks up design gongs
Komatsu’s Hybrid excavator won two separate design awards in July. First, the excavator picked up the Good Design award at the 2012 Australian International Design Awards in Sydney on 20 July. Then, on 31 July, the unit was recognised with the Australian Business Award for Product Innovation. The excavator was launched in Australia in May last year. The company claims the unit is the world’s first commercially viable hybrid earthmoving machine and the most environmentally sustainable machine in its class, consuming up to 40% less fuel than conventional excavators. It combines an internal combustion engine with a generator and electric motors.
Fiori site dumper available in Australia
SEMCO Group is distributing the Fiori D100 dumper in Australia. The vehicle has a heaped load capacity of up to 5.5 cubic metres and can tip at an angle of up to 70 degrees. The company says it can rapidly unload even sticky materials. The cabin is certified to ROPS and FOPS II standards and allows the operator unimpeded vision in every direction. The cabin is fitted with a rapidly deployable swivel operator station and seat so the driver is always facing the road ahead while driving. The unit is powered by a Perkins 1104C-44T “FASTRAM” direct-fuel-injection, turbo-aspirated diesel engine that delivers power of 74.5 kilowatts at 2300 revolutions per minute and conforms with exhaust emission directive 97/68 CE and EPA regulations.
