American driveline parts
Isuzu Australia has boosted its spare parts range with the addition of Meritor and Eaton driveline components. The company says many of its truck models in the upper medium- and heavy-duty weight categories feature American driveline components, such as Meritor and Eaton units. However, the components are available for users of non-Isuzu vehicles as well.

Commercial vehicles get high safety rating
The Holden’s new Colorado crew cab range has been awarded the maximum five-star safety rating under the Australasian New Car Assessment Program
(ANCAP). The light commercial vehicle range includes such standard safety features as electronic stability control (ESC), an anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake force distribution (EBD), driver and front passenger airbags and full-length curtain airbags. The vehicles also feature a high-strength steel frame and body structure as well as full-length side impact protection beams.

Midi excavator
JCB will shortly release a 5.5-ton midi excavator with a 55-millimetre rear tail swing onto the Australian market. The JCB 8055 excavator is built with a one-piece steel chassis plate, which the company says provides maximum strength and a low centre of gravity for stability. The unit is fitted with a load-sensing hydraulic system that combines a single variable piston pump with a large valving system to distribute hydraulic flow on demand to each function. Dipper tear-out is 32.8 kilonewtons and bucket breakout is 42.2 kilonewtons.
