NAMS.AU names ADAC as preferred data specification

Asset Design & As Constructed (ADAC) is now the NAMS.AU intended single data specification for Australia.

ADAC is used to facilitate the collection and lodgement of detailed information on contributed civil infrastructure and associated assets provided by the private sector to councils, and in ongoing management of those with other assets within councils. The product is developed and maintained by a consortium of local government agencies in Queensland, in conjunction with the IPWEA Queensland Division (IPWEAQ).

Earlier this year, IPWEAQ selected Bundaberg Regional Council to implement a case study trial using ADAC, with works commencing 22 May.

“Even though work isn’t complete on the ADAC Bundaberg case study, just the ability to talk about our new two-tiered roll-out program has generated strong interest from NSW and South Australia as well as Queensland’s existing members,” says Adam Hain, Technical Products Manager with IPWEA Qld.

“With organisations wanting to follow the NAMS.AU recommendations in asset management, some exciting new developments have come out of South Australia,” he says.

“Interestingly enough, all South Australian councils have been given state funding to follow NAMS.AU. As a result, ADAC is now on all of their radars with some councils having budgeted for ADAC membership already.”
