Young IPWEA, the new under-35s organisation is now a solid reality and attracting younger members nationwide.
It has been formed to promote the profession, to break down generational barriers within the industry and tap into the experience of older colleagues so that young practitioners can progress their careers and contribute more to the sector.
Young IPWEA has full backing from the IPWEA National Board and all State Divisions.
Meanwhile, at a grassroots level, there is a groundswell of support building among long-serving individual IPWEA members who have been inspired by the forceful young initiative.
Well aware that the sector’s future is largely reliant on the quality of skills flowing through, senior members in increasing numbers are expressing a willingness to pass the baton in terms of guidance and mentoring.
Moreover, the IPWEA National President Paul Di Iulio has put out a clarion call for senior members to make a concerted effort in providing their younger staff with the opportunity of attending the IPWEA National Conference in Darwin from August 11-15 this year.
“I call on all of you to become enablers so that our younger members can have the fantastic experience of attending the IPWEA National Conference at an early stage in their career,” he said.
