The IPWEA will hold a series of one-day workshops concerning stormwater drainage asset management best practice around the country in October and November.
The workshops, Stormwater Drainage Condition Assessment & Asset Performance, will assist asset management practitioners with inspection, condition and performance assessment of their stormwater drainage infrastructure.
They will focus on the practicalities of how to prepare and undertake a stormwater drainage network condition survey, including data analysis and reporting.
The key topics covered include a risk-based approach to defining scope of a survey; the inspection tools and techniques; condition ratings and performance assessments; an updated stormwater drainage asset register and components; and action plans for maintenance and renewals derived from condition analysis.
Alf Grigg, the Principal of A Grigg and Associates, and Peter Way, the Chair of NAMS.AU will present the course material.
The workshops are must-attend events for stormwater drainage asset practitioners, engineers, technical officers, inspectors and assessors. They will also provide the opportunity for participants to network and share their experiences.
The courses are based on the concepts and guidelines presented in the IPWEA’s Practice Note 5: Stormwater Drainage.
While it’s not necessary for attendees to have a copy of the publication at the workshop, it’s highly recommended that they have a copy for reference. It will not be available for purchase at the workshop. For more information, please visit
