IPWEA announces major appointments in 2020

IPWEA CEO David Jenkins is delighted to announce three new appointments to the organisation.

Christine Silke joins IPWEA as Corporate Services Manager. Silke will work closely with the finance team on key financial reporting and business management advice. She will also focus on governance, driving commercial opportunities and managing HR systems and processes. Silke is a CA who began her career with EY before moving into capital markets and more recently education and property. She has international experience, having worked for a number of years in Europe.

Silke, who commences in her role on April 20, hopes to be a catalyst for positive growth and improve outcomes for IPWEA members and customers. She believes her expertise in finance, change management and leadership will have a positive influence on IPWEA’s culture. “I will strive to achieve alignment to IPWEA's strategy, continuously improve and optimise processes and procedures, drive opportunities and identify and resolve key issues for long term sustainability and positive growth.”

The new Head of Education in Jonathan Jones, who has been tasked with consolidating IPWEA’s educational offering across all divisions. Jones will identify opportunities for international accreditations, partnerships with other professional bodies, and the development of new educational products, tools and services. He will also help develop educational frameworks that aid in the career progression of IPWEA members.

Jones, who has worked at CBA, AGSM and the Sydney School of Entrepreneurship (SSE), where he was the Education and Learning Director, said he was looking forward to joining IPWEA on April 27. “My intent is to work collaboratively across the organisation, building on the strong education platform already in place to drive strong business growth in education services.”

Sarah Di Mento
joined IPWEA as Marketing Manager in March. Di Mento, whose experience includes running a mobile media agency and more recently working for an SME marketing agency, will oversee marketing for IPWEA in Australasia and work on strategic alignment with IPWEA Divisions and NAMS Canada.

“I look forward to continuing to develop an integrated marketing approach, amplifying the great work of our members and driving greater awareness of the importance of public works, engineers and the asset management profession,” she said.
