CPEE Launches ‘Study with a Buddy’ Higher Education Initiative

The Centre for Pavement Engineering Education (CPEE) has launched ‘Study with a Buddy’, a new initiative in road and pavement specialist education designed to enhance student learning and reduce employer costs. Students studying together in the same workplace enjoy peer mentoring from their ‘study buddy’ and benefit from reduced fees.

It has been shown that improved outcomes are considerable when studying in conjunction with a study buddy. That is, where two persons are undertaking the same or similar units of study. They greatly assist each other’s learning by comparative interaction, support and the seeking of higher performance levels.

CPEE is recognised as Australia's premier education and training provider of specialised offerings for the roads, pavements and infrastructure asset management sector – this study with a buddy initiative is a further enhancement.

Employers Benefit by:

  • Reduced cost of supporting employees in their ongoing professional development
  • Improved employee knowledge and skills
  • Improved employee satisfaction and retention
  • Improved employee qualifications and corporate capability

Employees (students) Benefit by:

  • Peer support within their workplace
  • Improved educational outcomes

All CPEE courses are very practical and encourage direct application of the skills and knowledge acquired. With most of the units incorporating the latest revised Austroads Guides, each of the CPEE programs provide up to date technical content.

The CPEE post graduate award program is fully accredited by the Australian Government Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA).

CPEE is highly regarded by the pavement industry, with leading organisations Austroads and the Australian Asphalt Pavement Association (AAPA) as Foundation Members. CPEE and its endeavours are fully supported by all state road/transport agencies, reinforced by our close relationship and standing with local government, IPWEA, and the consulting sector.
