An amendment to AS 1742 Part 7 (Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices, Part 7: Railway Crossings) is open for public comment.
Comments close on 10 July, 2018. The amendment covers situations where the crossing is around a curve and the active operation of the crossing may not be visible for truck drivers soon enough for them to stop. In such a situation, repeater signing will be required on the approach.
