According to the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator, the National Roadworthiness Baseline Survey is well underway with significant progress made in August and September.
NHVR Executive Director for Productivity and Safety Geoff Casey stated at the Road Safety Conference in September that survey inspections had been completed in NSW, Victoria and Tasmania with inspections to follow in Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
The survey will sample up to 9000 heavy vehicles, including rigid, articulated, B-doubles, road trains, buses and plant equipment.
