In a tough job market facing rate capping in Victoria and mergers in NSW, many people are looking to enhance their skills to ensure that they are among the best performers in the face of rationalisations and or career promotions.
Two opportunities are currently available for you to increase your skills in asset management:
1. IPWEA Professional Certificate in Asset Management Planning
The Professional Certificate in Asset Management Planning gives participants the tools to develop their own draft Asset Management Plans using a combination of live and interactive webinars, how-to-videos, discussion forums, assignments, and hands-on use of IPWEA’s NAMS.PLUS tools and templates.
Anyone who has an interest in infrastructure asset management will benefit from the course. It is particularly targeted at those managing public infrastructure assets such as road and transport networks, water, sewer and drainage networks, parks and recreation facilities, community facilities and buildings and other community assets.
The course will be delivered over eight, 90-minute webinar modules, starting 15 March 2016.

2. Infrastructure Asset Management Postgraduate programs with CPEE and University of Tasmania
IPWEA sponsors infrastructure asset management units of study within the joint Centre for Pavement Engineering Education (CPEE) and University of Tasmania post-graduate, distance-learning programs.
With a continuing need for increased capability and knowledge in technical areas associated with the design, construction and maintenance of road pavements and other major infrastructure assets, the distance education courses provide a unique and convenient option to learn and gain relevant knowledge and qualifications without the need to attend classrooms.
Three CPEE specialist infrastructure asset management core units have been updated for study in 2016, to bring them in line with the 2015 editions of IPWEA’s flagship IIMM and AIFMM publications.
Now is the perfect time to enrol if you are new to the field or seeking to learn more about advanced asset management practices.
