Experts predict surge in floods

An article in today's SMH comments on expected changes in weather patterns associated with global warming.  In summary it identifies that short storm bursts will increase in frequency and severity, resulting in more flash flooding, especially in urban areas.  Our infrastructure is not currently designed for such inconvenient events and the public don't like the inconvenience, which creates an interesting challenge for the profession.
