ACCARNSI hosted 30 talented early career researchers from around Australia to participate in its 5th Early Career Researchers’ Forum and Workshop held in Sydney at the UNSW Kensington campus from 11 to 13 May 2011.
The diversity of projects across the Settlements and Infrastructure field made for an interesting program of presentations, with projects ranging from ‘Coastal Development Decision-Making’ and ‘Adapting to Climate Change: Implications for Transport Infrastructure, Transport Systems and Transport Behaviour’ to ‘Stormwater Harvesting as a Strategy for Climate Change Adaptation in Cities’ and ‘Climate Change Impacts on Infrastructure Cost Appraisal’. Guest speakers and facilitators included Professor Rodger Tomlinson, Griffith University, Professor Michael Taylor, University of South Australia, Dr Peter Graham, UNSW, Associate Professor Bruce Judd, UNSW and Ms Katie Vines, Office of Environment and Heritage, NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet who all meaningfully engaged participants in the activities of each of ACCARNSI’s four nodes – Coastal Settlements, Urban Planning, Transport and Inclusion, Built Environment, Innovation and Institutional Reform, and Infrastructure.
