At the Annual General meeting of the SA Division held on Friday 2 December at the Arkaba Hotel, the new Board of Directors for 2012 was announced.
Angelo Catinari steps in as new President, with Andrew Craig as Vice President and Boon Chua as treasurer.
Retiring president, Andrew Thomas remains on the Board as immediate past president.
Their were no nominations for the position of secretary and the Board will determine how the position is filled.
Existing board members returning for another term on the Board include: Paul di Iulio, John Hutton, Stephen Fines Phillips, Charles Sheffield, and Peter Tsokas. New Board members joining the Board include: Rita Excel, Bernadette Ward, Rod Ellis and Bob Andrew.
Congratulations to the new Board. A special thanks to retiring Board members, John Devine, Rod Fyfe and Michael Blythe for their involvment over the past year.
The 89 members who attended the AGM also supported changes to the constitution which now provide for the term of office for Board members to be up to two years, with half the Board retiring each year (but still eligible for re-election).
A further change to the constitution which was supported by members, provides for the election of two national Board representatives, in lieue of the previous arrangement which only allowed for one national Board representative. These changes mirror recent changes to the IPWEA national constitution to allow for increased representation.
The new Board meets for the first time on Thursday 15 December, where, amongst the first business to be attended to will be the appointment of the two national Board members, including National President, Paul di Iulio.
