Our industry is committed to the principles of continuous improvement processes. So too is IPWEA.

Here are some of the exciting changes we have in store for you:

intouch e-news

For some time, we have been receiving requests to have our monthly e-newsletter, intouch, brought back to fortnightly. From this month you will receive your intouch twice a month. Remember, you are your own editor – the newsletter you receive contains article that reflect your chosen areas of interest in 'My Profile' on the website.

This means shorter newsletters, with current industry information.

Fleet e-news

Our next exciting announcement is that the fleet sector (20% of our membership) is now getting a dedicated e-newsletter specifically for fleet operators.

If you selected only 'Fleet' in My Profile areas of interest, you will only receive the new Fleet intouch. If you selected 'Fleet' as well as other areas of interest, then you will receive both.

For AM Directors, if you want your fleet staff to get the new dedicated Fleet intouch newsletter, just ask them to sign up here and tick 'Fleet' only.

inspire magazine

We have decided to commit exclusively to a digital only format for our flagship magazine, inspire, to be produced three times a year. Over the last two membership surveys the percentage of members requesting digital only copies of the magazine has grown from 45% to 55% with another 20% happy to receive either. Nothing will change from the high quality articles you are used to.

inspire will be delivered to your inbox in the latest, user friendly, easy to read digital format.

You will be able to share the magazine content with staff and colleagues, highlight sections with your comments, the entire magazine will be fully searchable, you can save relevant sections for your records, have hyperlinking convenience, all with the added benefit of being able to read it anywhere on any device – at any time.

Editorial and advertising changes

As part of our continuous improvement process, we have now brought all communications and media in-house with the appointment of Emily Ditchburn in the new role of Manager Communications and Media. Emily can be contacted at emily.ditchburn@ipwea.org, or phone 02 8607 0488.

All advertising is now managed through Portside Media's Yuri Mamistvalov, who can be contact on 0419 339 865 or at yuri@portsidemedia.com.au.

We would like to publicly thank our former media managers Mahlab Media for all the great work that they have done with us over the last four years. We part on good terms and have the highest regard for their expertise. We felt that the time was right to consolidate and build our own internal capacity in communications and media.

Call for technical submissions

We are inviting technical papers and case study/award winning projects to be submitted to us for inclusion in inspire or intouch. You can also look forward to new special technical reports on major issues.

We know that many of our members, their councils and the private sector undertake some amazing projects. Why not proudly share these with your colleagues? Knowledge shared is knowledge gained. As an industry we tend not to promote ourselves and our achievements well enough. IPWEA is your platform to showcase excellence within our industry. Contact Emily Ditchburn on emily.ditchburn@ipwea.org, or phone 02 8607 0488.
