IPWEA is an official event partner with the Smart City Expo World Congress to be held 4-6 November in Barcelona, Spain.

The Barcelona Smart City Expo World Congress is the world's biggest and most influential smart city event. Each year it attracts over 25,000 delegates from around the world, more than 1100 exhibitors, and over 600 speakers, who gather to share their vision on how to build a more sustainable and liveable urban future.

Secure an All-Access Pass

In 2025, IPWEA, the Australian Smart Communities Association (ASCA) are proud to be collaboratively working together to promote the opportunity for Australian and New Zealand delegates to attend the 2025 Smart Cities Expo World Congress.

The peak bodies are calling for start-ups, entrepreneurs, local government practitioners, SMEs, academics, government decision makers, and industry leaders to represent Australia this November.

Twenty free all-access passes worth $2,000 each are up for grabs. The trip offers participants the opportunity to showcase their work, connect with city leaders and build strong professional networks.

As an official partner, we are excited to provide the chance for twenty lucky members of the promotion partners to attend the event.

Promotion Criteria

  • Must be a valid IPWEA or IPWEA Aotearoa Member or a member of ASCA. Not a member? Join IPWEA here.
  • Must have the ability, willingness and any required approvals to travel to Barcelona for the duration of the event.
  • Recipients of the all access passes are solely responsible for all other costs of their participation in this event including but not limited to air travel, ground transport, accommodation, meals, incidental expenses and travel insurance.
  • The Promotion begins at 12:01 AM AEST on Monday 19th May and ends at 11:59 PM AEST on Tuesday 30th September 2025.
