We’re well and truly into 2023 now with the first quarter over. The end of March is also the end of the FBT year so it’s a good time to review how the FBT exemption announced last year for EVs and PHEVs will impact your Fleet Asset Management Plan, and operational fleet budgets over the next 12 months.

Last month, IPWEA Fleet held the annual Fleet Conference in Brisbane. I would like to thank the delegates, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors for making it a successful event. I received great feedback from many delegates who felt inspired and excited to take new ideas and information back to their workplace. I’ve already started the planning for next year, so send me your feedback so we can keep it relevant for fleet practitioners.

As the year progresses, several trends are emerging which will have a significant impact on the role of a fleet practitioner over the next decade. Technology will find a place to help reduce fleet sizes, improve safety management and provide better reports on fleet performance to assist the transition to zero and low emission vehicles.

IPWEA Fleet will explore each of these trends in the Fleet Management Training Days being held in each capital city and some regional locations throughout the year. These events are a great opportunity to learn, share resources and connect with other members of the fleet community. I look forward to seeing you at one of these events.
