The NAMS+ Mentoring Service is designed to assist subscribing organisations to achieve the most from its investment in NAMS+. This tailored program will take you through a discovery and design phase through to successful implementation and continued usage of the toolkit, totally customised to meet your needs.

The service is designed to encourage the professional development of key staff through the sharing of skills, experiences, and insights to meet regulatory requirements and the strategic objectives of the organisation.

NAMS+ Mentoring Service What you get

A customised mentoring service including:

  • Discovery Consultation with senior IPWEA Asset Management experts to identify your needs and objectives
  • Design – Our subject matter experts prepare a program to meet the objectives, scheduled over a timeline that suits you.
  • Implement – individual and group sessions rolled out online.

As part of the package you also receive:

  • 1 x Registration in the IPWEA Professional Certificate in Asset Management Planning – upskill a key team member in the NAMS+ process

Steve Verity

Steve Verity
Principal Advisor - Asset Management, IPWEA Australasia

Steve is a fellow member of the IPWEA and has over 25 years’ experience in infrastructure management across the public and private sectors. Steve has a strong appreciation in the importance of applying robust planning and risk management frameworks to ensure the necessary funds are available to deliver projects and programs at the agreed level of service. Steve brings a depth and breadth of expertise to the team and willingness to share experiences with those who wish to develop their skills and knowledge.

Jacqui Hansen

Jacqui Hansen
Principal Advisor - Asset Management, IPWEA Australasia

Jacqui Hansen is a consulting civil engineer with 25 years’ experience in local government. She specialises in Asset Management and for 15 years has provided consulting services to local government, helping Councils to improve asset management practices and develop meaningful asset management plans. Her focus has always been the needs of regional, rural and remote communities. She brings her real-life experiences to the team.

Allen Mapstone
Director, Strategic Asset Management, IPWEA Australasia

Allen holds an Honours Degree in Civil Engineering along with post graduate management qualifications. He has extensive experience in all aspects of asset management planning, operations and corporate planning. 

Allen has senior experience in local government asset management and has been involved in many projects throughout Australia as well as implementing improved asset management practices in Canada. This includes work with the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (IPWEA), and a number of Australian State Government Departments to implement the organisational maturity improvements for asset management and financial reporting. 

Since 2006, Allen has been the principle trainers and developers for the IPWEA NAMS+ asset management toolkit and has provided training extensively across Australia and in Canada.

Steve Walker
Principal, Asset Engineering

Steve is an experienced Civil Engineer with over 30 years’ experience in the practical application of infrastructure management gained from private consultancy and senior positions in Local Government.

He has a passion for innovation and improvement and is involved in the further development of Local Government through the technical application of asset management and associated training.

Steve has been working with the IPWEA since 2007 in the development and resourcing of the NAMS+ program.
