Young IPWEA are proud to announce their first webinar - "Who Is Peter Higgs?"
The public works sector has so many highly respected practitioners and thought leaders but what do we, our sector's young professionals, really know about them? Young IPWEA plan to arrange regular webinars to provide insight into the careers of our various sector leaders. These webinars will provide an opportunity for public works professionals, both young and not-so-young, to consider the vast range of career pathways and to learn from some of the best.
Peter Higgs has volunteered to go first and will be presenting via GoToMeeting at 11am on Tuesday August 11, access information is provided below.
The format of the webinar will be relatively informal. Peter will spend approximately 20 minutes providing some insight into his career to date, with a following 20 minutes (approx.) for Q&A from viewers.
The webinar is limited to around 25 attendees and will be first-come, first-served. We will be recording it and uploading to the IPWEA website for anyone who misses out and for future viewing.
Peter is a chartered professional engineer and the current president of IPWEA New Zealand. From 2007 to 2015 he was the Group Manager of Engineering and Works at Gisborne District Council, also taking on the Deputy Chief Executive role from 2012.
