Marc: Hello everyone,
I've been asked by a member of the IPWEA Fleet community if any other members can provide running costs per kilometre for popular passenger and light commercial vehicles?
I know many people have WOLC for the procurement evaluation purposes, but does anyone have it calculating costs per kilometre in their FMIS?
Marc Sibbald, Director Fleet, IPWEA Australasia
Steve: While I have nothing to offer, I am very interested in following this subject. I do not have robust data from our systems to calculate this but it is something I would like to do in the future. Having this data to benchmark fleet performance, and vehicle selection policies is something I am aiming at in the medium term.
Steve Friend, Warrumbungle Shire Council
Michael: Mark,
I have data on the average for some asset sub-types but not brands or makes separately. This is fuel, maintenance, and tyres. Excludes rego, insurance & depreciation.
Michael Borg, Rockhampton Regional Council
Marc: This is awesome Michael! Thank you for sharing.
Marc Sibbald, Director Fleet, IPWEA Australasia
Steve: Interesting figures Michael – thank you. The full electric looks higher than I would have expected. Is this because of a particular anomaly, or is this reflective of the ongoing cost?
Steve Friend, Warrumbungle Shire Council
Michael: Thanks Steve,
Yes, data is affected by small quantity, low annual kms and need to still service/inspect vehicles based on time elapsed, but at the moment this is what we see. We have 5 full EV's and they are still considered a trial.
Michael Borg, Rockhampton Regional Council
Mark: Hi Marc,
My figures would appear to be around the same as Michael's, with an average of $0.38 for Light Commercial, and $0.23 for Passenger.
