“Ross Moody has had a long and outstanding career in public works and has made an immense contribution to the industry both in local government and through a long record of achievement with IPWEA,” said Rob Wilson, Director IPWEA Fleet.

“I feel honoured to have received the IPWEA Fleet Outstanding Service Award at the opening session of the annual fleet conference,” said Moody.

“To be valued by your peers is a most rewarding experience.”

Moody joined IPWEA in 1983 when he was appointed works and services manager at the City of Stirling with responsibility for operations, including fleet.

“Being in leadership roles for almost 40 years has allowed me to take the initiative when I have seen an opportunity, to build effective teams and create business opportunities,” he said.

“The most rewarding experience has been my association with IPWEA, firstly in a voluntary capacity and then in my role as Executive Officer and Director IPWEA Fleet, which exists to advance the practice of fleet management and we have successfully developed numerous products and services since its inception in 2004.”

Moody says the highlights of his career are the development of the best practice Plant & Vehicle Management Manual, the Fleet Management Certificate, annual professional development workshops and the IPWEA Australasian Fleet conference, established in 2017.

“With the input of the Fleet Council, there is no shortage of new ideas and with an expanded IPWEA Fleet team the future is bright,” said Moody.
