Presenter: Ian Allwright Having been involved in the design, construction and delivery of pavements and infrastructure for over 10 years, Ian will present an overview of the many stages in each of the project steps. He will identify how fundamental assumptions are included as part of the design, and look at the often undervalued role of the construction manager who performs the final or last chance check to catch any errors or design inefficiencies before they get built in. The role of construction manager is often the starting platform for many junior engineers and provides an exciting and excellent basis for their career, however with such a fundamental role, as managers we often fail to provide them with adequate insight and mentoring to fulfil this role successfully. #SpeakerPresentation
