Recreation Trails, Tracks and Paths

This full day face-to-face workshop will cover the content of the recently released Practice Note 10.6 Parks Management: Trails, Tracks and Paths.

About the Workshop: Recreation Trails, Tracks and Paths

Trails, tracks and paths are hot topics currently, with governments throwing large sums of investment dollars in establishing trail networks to achieve health outcomes, and to stimulate economic development and job creation. During the COVID pandemic, trails have become critical community infrastructure and community and political awareness of their importance has never been higher.

Starting from levels of service, and progressing through planning, advocacy, design, construction, operation and asset management, the workshop will use topic based sessions to discuss the content of the latest practice, provide relevant examples, and will include practical exercise sessions to help workshop participants gain a good grasp of trail management from “go to whoa”.

PN 10.6

This full day workshop will cover the content of the recently released IPWEA Practice Note 10.6 Parks Management: Trails, Tracks and Paths. This practice note and workshop takes the five previously released practice notes and applies them to recreation trails, providing a whole of life lens on these important community assets.
