A course for public works engineers, technical officers & supervisors

Public works engineering professionals can play a key role in determining planning decisions by contributing technical expertise to an increasingly commercialized and politicized process.

This course has been developed for referral authority officers, emerging leaders and public works sector entrants to build familiarity with the planning process.

Learning Outcomes:
Participants will gain an understanding of:

  • the strategic and statutory planning context
  • the roles and responsibilities of referral authorities
  • the intersection of public works and planning
  • the ways in which politics can influence outcomes

The course is presented by experienced planning professionals with backgrounds in strategic & statutory planning, leadership and local government.
