IPWEA NSW 2014 TALKS SERIES - Leadership and Career Opportunities in Public Works

The IPWEA NSW 2014 Talks Series is a new initiative to encourage young men and women to consider Civil Engineering and Public Works as a viable, interesting and challenging career path. The aim of this first IPWEA NSW Talks Series is to:

•    Increase the profile of Public Works Engineering.
•    Encourage young men and women to enter the field of Public Works Engineering.
•    Provide a forum for open discussions on topics relevant to our Industry.

This first networking evening is focused on Leadership and Career Opportunities in Public Works

PRESENTER - Scott Williams - COMPLETE Urban Pty Ltd

Scott Williams has a career that has spanned across government, professional services, construction, and manufacturing.

Scott received his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of South Queensland, and then went on to complete an MBA at Deakin University in Victoria.  After gaining experience as a Civil Engineer, in the 1990’s Scott founded COMPLETE Urban.  Originally based in London, Scott brought COMPLETE back to Australia when he returned home in 2001.

COMPLETE is a multi-disciplinary design and project management firm that specialises in urban infrastructure projects.  COMPLETE now has offices in Sydney, Gold Coast, Auckland, and Adelaide, but services all regions across Australia.

Scott is also a founder and Director of HUB Street Equipment and CA&I (Community Assets and Infrastructure). HUB is a world renowned designer and supplier of Street Lighting, Street Furniture and Shelter Systems.  HUB currently operates offices in Australia, Singapore, Abu Dhabi and Doha, with many established manufacturing facilities across Asia.  CA&I is a civil contractor that specialises in complex public projects for local government.

Across the three businesses, Scott is dedicated to Public Works and continually seeks to find innovative solutions to problems encountered in delivering community projects.
