Scope
This course provides a general introduction to types and properties of bituminous 
materials including bitumen, modified binders, emulsions and how these are applied 
in general terms in treatment including asphalt, sprayed seals and micro-surfacing.

Engineers, supervisors, technical officers, sales staff who are new to the industry and 
require a basic knowledge of bituminous materials. Administrative staff who wish to develop an improved understanding of the work undertaken by their organisation. Civil construction staff whose work includes a component of bituminous surfacing.
