Good morning all,
We are proposing to provide some elsholz kerbing to manage run off road risks in a new subdivision as we have a 2.5m drop off to bushland.
We will have a safety fence to prohibit pedestrian & cyclists from going over this drop.
Just behind the elsholz kerb we are looking at providing a shared path & wonder if anyone has developed a guide as to how far the shared path should be setback from the face of the elsholz kerb.
We were thinking about 0.5m as this is an Austroads absolute min clearance to a hazard for a low speed cycle (shared path).
We were trying to eliminate two lots of fencing & safety barriers due to; maintenance, visual outcome, hazard for path users, etc.
Has anyone any other experiences or suggestions?
thanks
