While six streams of concurrent sessions ran in the adjacent halls at the
2013 IPWEA International Public Works Conference in Darwin, the Exhibitors Hall provided a location for delegates to congregate and network, while browsing the latest products and innovations in the sector at a total of 40 exhibitor stands.
Standing out in the Exhibitors Hall was without doubt the 5.5-tonne Pc55 MR3 Mini Excavator, wheeled in by long-term platinum sponsor
Komatsu.
"Used extensively through the local government sector and a very versatile piece ofequipment, we thought this would be a good place to showcase it," said Komatsu Australia National Sales Manager, Carl Grundy.
Of the Conference, Grundy said: "For us, the opportunity to meet key stakeholders in a relaxed environment is very beneficial. It helps us to get to the bottom of their challenges, and enables us to change our business to meet those challenges."
"It's been fantastic, we've found the enquiries to be really in-depth and technical, people are really looking at our products, rather than just visiting the stand and picking up a free pen," said Adrian Burns at the
Fulton Hogan stand.
"It was an easy decision to come and exhibit at the Conference," said Rita Excell, South Australia State Manager at ARRB Group. "It's been a great opportunity to network with our members and share knowledge and experiences.

Colin Lewis from Pentair Water Solutions said the conference offered a great opportunity for the company to promote its new name to the marketplace and "catch up with a lot of people in the industry".
