G'day mates, We have a couple of locations where we have provided solar street lighting. These have been where the proposed lights are a significant distance from the street lighting grid. We have been approached by a developer who wishes to provide solar lighting to a residential sibdivision. These solar systems are being suggested as being standards compliant & cost effective. I am not convinved that this is the best way from a Council perespective. Would you please advise if there are any issues that you are aware of that needs to be considered other than whoe of life costs. thanks ------------------------------------------- Adam Mularczyk Team Co-ordinator Development Engineering Wyong Shire Council WYONG NSW -------------------------------------------

Sorry for extensive delayed response as I have joined this group recently.

We at Logan has allowed LED Street Lighting (which will be Council owned as rate 3) as subdivision but (not Solar other than locations where connection was problematic or as a trial) interesting to know what were the whole of life cycle cost vs benefit of solar lighting would be at a subdivisional level (as back up connection ? to the grip?)

    Regards,
    Ashish
