Annual Country Meeting
The Annual Country Meeting continues to be one of the most popular events on the IPWEA WA calendar, and is a chance for our South West branch and members to showcase the beautiful south west regions of Western Australia.
This year we revert to our one day format with a combination of presentations and site visits throughout the day. The program includes the:
* Albany Ring Road
* Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicle in Management & Maintenance of Marine Assets
* Water, Energy & Food - Bridging the Gap
* Albany Port & Waterfront
* Gap Viewing Platform
* Anzac Memorial
* Albany Projects Overview
The ever popular Gala Dinner promises to deliver good food, great company, lots of laughs and stunning views from the beautiful Carlyles Function Centre which is perched atop Mt Adelaide. Delegates are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite Superhero, or to wear their favourite Loud Shirt thereby ensuring the evening will be nothing if not colourful. The Gala Dinner will also include the "Have a Shirt" Charity Auction started last year when the wonderfully loud purple shirt worn by then President Ian Daniels was auctioned off and raised funds for the Smith Family.
The intent of the auction is similar to the "Magic Tie" that IPWEA Australasia auctions off at the International Public Works Conference, with proceeds going to a charity of choice. The winning bid gets to keep the shirt for the year and then returns it the following year to be re-auctioned off for another good cause. Music will once again be supplied by our favourite DJ....DJ Dal Yellup.
Our dinner speaker for the evening is Stuart Nahajski, Landcorp.
Registration: Delegates are to meet and register for the Annual Country Meeting at the City of Albany Civic Offices, 102 North Road, Yakamia.
Dinner: the Gala Dinner will be held at Carlyles Function Centre, Old Forts Drive, Albany. Pre-dinner drinks commencing at 6.30pm, and dinner commencing at 7.00pm.
A coach has been arranged to pick up delegates from various hotels for the Gala Dinner. Details of pick up points and times will be provided closer to the event date.
