The Oaklands Crossing Precinct Project

The Oaklands Crossing $174 million project was jointly funded by the Federal and State Governments and the City of Marion. Join YIPWEA SA for this free session to visit and tour the project site, and hear about the successful partnership between DIT, the PTP Alliance and the City of Marion. Then visit the Dwyer Road Reserve Smart Precinct to learn about how Marion and SAGE Automation are utilising $1 million of smart technology.

The projects

The Oaklands Crossing Grade Separation Project was delivered to:
  • improve and reduce travel times variability for vehicles using the crossing
  • improve safety by removing a rail crossing point
  • improve cycling and walking accessibility and safety
  • act as a catalyst for development and renewal in the area
The City of Marion’s Dwyer Road Reserve and smart precinct improves access for residents and visitors to Oaklands Station and Marion’s retail and entertainment centre. It features an array of smart technologies including paths with sensor-activated lighting, shelters with solar panels to enable people to charge phones, and digital parking signage.

Session content

Hear speakers from the City of Marion, PTP Alliance and SAGE Automation outline how the projects were initiated and delivered, and visit the project sites.  Finally, join YIPWEA SA for drinks and networking at the Warradale Hotel.
