Tech Talk: Meeting the challenges of the Urban Heat Island effect through road resurfacing

When:  May 20, 2021 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM (ACST)
Associated with  South Australia

Content

Heat islands are urbanized areas that experience higher temperatures than outlying areas. Structures such as buildings, roads, and other infrastructure absorb and re-emit the sun's heat, leading to:

  • Increased Energy Consumption.
  • Elevated Emissions of Air Pollutants and Greenhouse Gases.
  • Compromised Human Health and Comfort.
  • Impaired Water Quality.
Several Councils in metropolitan Adelaide have been trialling surfacing treatments aimed at reducing the urban heat island effect.

Come and hear from SuperSealing about its CoolSeal treatment together with case studies from:
  • City of Salisbury
  • City of Adelaide
  • City of Charles Sturt
