Overview and Audience

 This practical one-day workshop covers the key aspects of inter-relationships between the concepts of asset management and accounting.

It is important that Asset Managers understanding the legal and accounting requirement that their data is used for. It is equally important that accountants understand the types and reasons for the expenditure how this should be accounted for correctly.

The workshop discusses the reporting requirements and relationships between operational, maintenance and renewal strategies for infrastructure assets.

Course Objectives

  • To provide an understanding of asset management requirement in financial reporting
  • Provide an understanding of the principles of accounting as they relate to asset management
  • Provide an understanding of the principles of asset management as they relate to accounting
