Autonomous Vehicles Symposium – is NZ future-ready?

About this Symposium

It is predicted that autonomous vehicles (AVs) will start to appear on our roads in the next 10 to 20 years, so attend this Symposium and you will be able to take the lead and assist your organisation in preparing NZ for these vehicles.

Trials with AVs (also called driverless vehicles) are being held in NZ and around the world. It is predicted that the impacts of AVs will be significant when they become common and affordable, in the 2040s to 2050s, ie within the 30 year planning period of many organisations.

So now is the time to start planning for the future.

The Discussion

How do AVs work? What infrastructure is needed for AVs? What impact will the implementation of AVs have on land use? What is happening around the world in the development of AVs?

This Symposium is exploring the possibility of a site visit to Christchurch Airport to view the operation of an AV shuttle and hear about the trials of this shuttle from the operator.

Partners

We are proud to partner with the Ministry of Transport and A&NZ Driverless Vehicle Initiative (ADVI) to deliver this event.

Who should attend

Infrastructure* Engineers and Managers, Land Use Planners, Regulatory Planners, Policy Planners, Policy Managers and Analysts, Transport Operators, Emergency Services, Landscape Architects, etc from across local government, central government, consultants, contractors, service providers and suppliers.

* Infrastructure includes roading, 3 waters, electricity and telecommunications – particularly digital communications.

Benefits of attending

AVs are going to make far reaching changes to transport and land use in NZ (and around the world). Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from thought-leaders in this space, to understand AVs and their impacts, so that you can guide your organisation in planning for these changes.
