John Comrie, Principal, JAC Pty Ltd

John has had 32 years involvement in local government. He is a former head of the South Australian Government’s Office for State/Local Government Relations and prior to that the Local Government Association of South Australia.

He consults and conducts training courses nationally on local government financial issues in his own right and through Deloitte Access Economics, the Australian Centre of Excellence for Local Government and the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia.

He has written a broad suite of financial sustainability guides for the Local Government Associations in South Australia and Tasmania and instructions on rating theory and practice and the role and use of debt for ACELG. He is one of the three co-authors of IPWEA’s 2009 Australian Infrastructure Financial Management Guidelines and the soon to be released 2nd edition (Australian Infrastructure Financial Management Manual, 2015).
