    Hi mates,

Would anyone have a list or be willing to share a list of all asset management activities that fall under the 'asset management' umbrella?

With limited resourcing our team cannot deliver all of what is asked of us, we need to determine what falls under asset management, and of that list, what are the priorities of what we can deliver or build a business case for more resourcing or support.

    Kind Regards

Your question is an interesting one. The answer is that "Everything to do with assets comes under that umbrella."
It's a little like "Safety" or "Quality". The responsibility falls to everyone involved in the operations, maintenance and management of the resources and the funds necessary to do those things.
Asset Management is an organisation wide activity. Maybe your organisation needs to undertake an "Asset system maturity assessment" where you would examine all aspects of asset management to understand where the responsibilities lie and where current gaps exist.
Very often, people get distracted to focus on simply "renewal" or "maintenance" and fail to see the interactions required across the whole organisation for AM to be effective.
If you are after a relatively succinct and recognised description, then please look at the ISO standards 55000 where the relationships are described.
I'll stay away from my "soap box".

    Hi Lance,

    Thanks for your response.

We are currently in the process of a maturity assessment to look at the wholistic picture and to identify current gaps.
This question is just to get key high-level asset management responsibilities to develop a service level agreement between a business unit (Asset Management) that delivers asset management services separate from the unit that delivers operations and maintenance (parks and natural areas). With limited resourcing the team cannot deliver all of what is expected of it so we would like to work with the parks team to identify priorities.

    Kind Regards
