Where do you put Kerb and Channel? Is it part of the road network or part of the drainage network?
I support it being part of the road network. It doesn't appear it Practice note 5 Stormwater Drainage and would you build K&C without a road?
Interested to see what people say they do.

Mount Isa City Council includes Kerb and Channel as a Minor Structure associated with Roads. If K&C is built without a road (e.g. for a garden bed) it actually forms part of the component to the respective garden bed.

In NZ we include kerb and channel under stormwater drainage, along with the open surface water channels along side the road.
Its primary purpose is to collect the surface water from the road.
There is a separate IPWEA Practice Note for kerb and channel

We have ours split. Our roads asset team manages the kerb and gutter as its own asset.

The Stormwater team manages the pipes and pits.

Different business units - different budgets, Asset Management Plan etc etc.

Does need co-ordination and gentleman's agreements around budgets and who is responsible for what stormwater issues.

We also have ours included in the Transport Asset Group and part of the Transport Asset Management Plan. This strategy works well for us when it comes to condition audits, as we combine kerbs and roads in the same project, which saves time and cost.
