Condition assessment of buildings

  • 1.  Condition assessment of buildings

    Hi All

I am in the process of developing a specification document to engage consultants to complete building/structure condition inspections across the State of NSW in Australia. The aim of the specification is to ensure consistency of condition reports in terms of the level of detail of assessment, the format of the report, the scope of the assessment, etc.

The specification needs to cover all building types/functions as our portfolio is extensive.

I would appreciate if someone can share the specification document who has gone through the process lately.

    Thanks

    Eddie

    Hi Eddie/Erica,
I have recently developed this spec, completed a successfully RFQ process and the assessments are now complete. I'm happy to share.
This spec was developed for a pilot assessment utilising the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (IPWEA) Building Condition & Performance Assessment Guidelines (Practice Note 3) methodology. (well worth getting a copy).
The outcome of this process was the condition reports but more importantly was the lifecycle analysis and ongoing renewals and replacements data and analysis.
Current working on Statewide SOA to follow the above process for condition assessments Plus the addition of appropriate IT and support.

    Hi Eddie,
I have a spec that we recently used for a pilot assessment utilising the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (IPWEA) Building Condition & Performance Assessment Guidelines (Practice Note 3) worth while getting a copy. The spec went to RFQ and the pilot is now successfully complete.

I am now developing a sourcing plan for a statewide SOA for this process.
    Happy to share the spec.

    Hi Peter,

I have been working on a similar condition assessment framework for buildings, based around Practice Note 3. It would be interesting to see how you have approached the subject.  Would you be able to share your spec with us as well please?
