thoughts on steam cleaners???

    Hi Everyone,

I've been approached by our parks and gardens coordinator on purchasing an industrial stem cleaner for cleaning gum off footpaths, cleaning graffiti, cleaning toilets, weed/pest control so we don't have to resort to heavy chemicals and herb/pesticides.

Just wondering what setups are being used out there?

Hot pressure washer VS steam cleaner?

    Trailer mounted vs skid mounted?

    any information/photos would be helpful.

    Cheers Brendan

    Hey Brendan,

Currently our CBD cleaners use a Greenspeed Gum Removal Unit and they love it. It is purely a spot removal machine which they use in conjunction with ride on footpath scrubber. (link below)

They love it and I have never had any issues with the unit, nor have I had any negative feedback from the crews.

    Hope that helps.

Amongst the many challenges faced by commercial cleaning operators, those relating to productivity, health and safety, the environment would probably rank amongst the highest. In support of the cleaning operators, the key players in the equipment sales market are evolving new products that are simple to operate and reduce cleaning costs.

    Hey Brendan,

I sent this through the IPWEA site, but it may not have worked as I added a link.

My CBD cleaners currently use a Greenspeed gum removal machine in conjunction with a ride on scrubber.

They love the gum machine and while it was a massive effort at the start, now its just use for spot cleaning as they work along the street.

I also have had it for approximately 2 years without a single hiccup, touch wood. Being a rechargeable battery powered unit is very beneficial as it easily transportable and can be operated with minimal training.

The link below is from our local supplier, but I have seen Greenspeed gear used all around Australia so I'm sure there would be a fairly local distributor up north should you want to engage them for a demo of some sort.

    Hi Brendan,

Here at Wingecarribee we have a trailer mounted Aussie Hydro Loop cleaner. Can be used as a pressure cleaner or for steam. We purchased ours in 2015 so there would be others on the market these days I'd suggest. It operates in our Open Spaces (Parks) area and is mainly used for footpath and pavement cleaning. Appears to do everything asked of it well enough.

    thanks
